Leader of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council (SIIC), Ammar al-Hakeem, described the meeting of Iraqi leaders at Talabani’s home of being, “A step in the right direction to patch things and calm tension to avoid media inflammatory campaigns that are confusing the public. In a speech before the SIIC’s Cultural Forum,Hakeem warned political forces from reaching the point of no return; he rejected taking the public down to the streets or from saying things that cannot be explained. He renewed his call for, “The need for a dialogue between political blocs by siting at a round table and talking face to face.” He stressed that, “Round table and face to face talks are best ways to overcome misunderstanding.” Hakeems pointed out that dialogue between political leaders help activating agreements and create suitable environments for to overcome suspension between them. |
